Or as some have said "look like PS2 games". I think I remember even seeing someone say on a Cold Steel III or IV article that they wanted to play the game, but didn't want to go back to the first two Cold Steel games because they looked "bad". I can understand some finding it hard to go back to older looking games, and even the graphics having a hand in which to play first out of Sky and Cold Steel, but it's not like there wont be people unwilling to go to the CS games due to their graphic either. And if someone doesn't care about the story enough to go back to "worse" looking games, then they wouldn't have gone back to Sky either and would be even more lost during CS III and IV. And if a company was going to localize a game based on just what has the best graphics without regards to story, they would localize CS IV over CS III.
#AO NO KISEKI PC STOP AUTO FORWARD SERIES#
If someone was just going to play the best looking game in the series and never go back because they don't care about the story, they would start with CS II, not even CS I. And I'm sure if you asked around these boards there would be some who would say they even prefer the graphics of the Sky games. The best selling Trails game in the West still is Trails in the Sky FC, the "worst looking" game in the series. There are plenty of people who complain about the Cold Steel graphics because they aren't up to "modern standards". It's not like Cold Steel is the most graphically appealing game either. I, personally, never really understood this argument.

We could assume this means CS III is getting localized first and that CS IV will get localized, too, but we won't know for sure for about another year I'd guess. We just don't know who will be localizing the game or when it will be localized. CS III and IV expect the player to have played Crossbell and players will get spoiled on pretty much the entirety of the Crossbell Arc, not to mentioned confused when CS III and IV start dealing with things and people they don't explain because you're expected to know about them already.ĬS III is already unoffically confirmed to be getting localized eventually anyway, when Falcom's President, Toshihiro Kondo, mentioned once or twice that they intended to bring the game to the West. I do think we have a decent chance of getting Zero and Azure before CS III and IV if Falcom don't try and rush the latter two out, though. And at the very least we will have fantranslations for the Crossbell games that can be played. Though if this is the case, I think we will have a good chance of getting Crossbell afterwards, before the next Kiseki Arc gets developed/localized. I think Falcom will want CS III and IV localized first, which is in my opinion a mistake, and if they do want them translated first, Xseed will likely localize them before Crossbell. It is very possible they will be localized, but at the moment we really don't know what either Falcom or Xseed are doing so we have no real way fo knowing when we'll get any more Trails game right now.
